RunTru by Trane is Trane's value-tier equipment line - built in the same factories, by the same engineers, with the same manufacturing standards as Trane-branded systems, but at a lower price point. If you need reliable cooling and heating but have a tighter budget, RunTru delivers Trane's core engineering without the premium features.

Fun fact for the HVAC-curious: RunTru's package units are actually the same cabinets and core components as the units Trane previously sold under their own name. The Trane 4WCC4 became the RunTru package heat pump, and the 4WCY became the Trane 5WCC when they transitioned to R-454B refrigerant. Same equipment, rebranded to create a clear value tier.

We typically recommend RunTru for rental properties, small casitas, or situations where budget is the primary concern. For your primary residence where you'll live for years, we generally recommend stepping up to the Trane-branded line for the additional efficiency, warranty coverage, and advanced features.
