Your AC keeps your family safe in 115°F Phoenix summers. Replacing one is one of the three biggest checks you will write, after the house and the car. The decision deserves a tech who knows what Phoenix asks of an AC system.

Local Roots is family-owned and small on purpose. Chris and Stacia Hays have been installing AC in the Valley for 24+ years. Our job at the estimate is to tell you what your home actually needs, not what costs us the most to put in.

We are NATE-certified and Trane Comfort Specialists. Every install starts with a Manual J load calculation sized for Phoenix's 107°F design day. Our online pricing tool shows estimated pricing for your home in about 60 seconds. Or call 602-560-8989 for a free in-home estimate.

We install Trane at the high tier and RunTru by Trane at the value tier. RunTru is built in the same factory as Trane with simpler features at a lower equipment cost; both carry Trane warranty. Brand is one decision in a Phoenix install. Sizing is the one that determines whether the system keeps up in July.

When to Schedule

Pre-monsoon (March through early June) is the best window: equipment is in stock, lead times are short, and the install happens before the system is under peak load. Peak summer (July through September) is still feasible, but lead times stretch. If your existing system fails in July, we can usually source equipment within a few days. A Manual-J-correct install still beats a same-day swap of whatever fits on the truck.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does AC installation take?

Most standard replacements finish in one day (6 to 8 hours of crew time). New installations with ductwork modifications take 2 to 3 days. We confirm the timeline during the in-home consultation, after we see the access path and the existing system.

What brands do you install?

Trane and Trane's value-tier RunTru. We are Trane Comfort Specialists, which means Trane factory-trains and audits our techs. At the in-home estimate we walk you through the equipment tier options and tell you which one we would install in our own home.

Do I need to replace my ducts when getting a new AC?

Often not. We inspect the existing ductwork at the in-home consultation. If your ducts are in good shape, the install is straightforward. If we find undersized runs, insulation breaks, or significant leakage, we show you what we found and quote the duct work separately so you can decide whether to include it.

What size AC do I need?

Not what a square-foot equation says. A 2,000 square-foot Phoenix home is not the same load as a 2,000 square-foot Tempe home with different glazing, insulation, and orientation. We run a Manual J load calculation that accounts for Phoenix's 107°F design temperature, attic temperatures, west-facing glass, insulation R-value, and duct leakage. Bigger is not better; oversized systems short-cycle and leave humidity unmanaged.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We offer promotional 0% financing through our financing partner for qualified buyers (term length set at application), plus longer-term fixed-payment options. We walk through the current offers and what you would qualify for at the in-home estimate.
